Under a rain of blue beans

To make my way, I use lace instead of concrete pavers. It allows me to move forward by gathering each moment in a pattern. When I look back, I don't see a weft or warp. When I look ahead, I see complete freedom.
On this path, I was caught in a rain of blue beans. I had no umbrella to protect myself, nor a basket to collect them.
I stood there for a while, watching this strange rainfall. It pinches but it feeds.
I wanted to keep one to observe, learn and remember. I closed my eyes and opened my hand.
And then, in the middle of my palm, the one I was going to keep.
I opened it to find its peas.
Since I planted them, they have erected above the clouds that created this funny rain, making this piece of lace a cape so that we never compromise on what could set humanity back.
